A Heartfelt Encounter: Recollecting the Day a Mother Humpback Whale and Her Calf Engaged with Us for Hours
For hours, they swam around our boat, their graceful bodies gently breaking the water's surface before disappearing and reappearing again, as if playing an elaborate game of hide-and-seek. The mother, her colossal body reflecting the sunlight, was the epitome of grace, displaying a level of trust and curiosity in us that we were profoundly touched by. Her calf, though smaller and less coordinated, showed no less enthusiasm, bobbing up and down, flapping its small fins, and occasionally, surprising us with a playful leap.
